IN THE CARE OF
Ridout's Valley Chapel
Eugene Brooks Bromberg, 56, of Birmingham, Alabama, was called home by his Lord and Savior, on Sunday, January 10, 2021. He was born on June 27, 1964 in Birmingham, AL to Evelyn Payne Brooks Bromberg and Frank Wallace Bromberg. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn; his Grandparents Jean Wallace Bromberg, Charles Louis Bromberg, III, Eugene Howard Brooks and Evelyn Payne Brooks. He is survived by his loving daughters Abigail Elizabeth Lissette Bromberg (Fort Lauderdale, FL), Hannah Evelyn Jane Bromberg (Birmingham, AL), and Maddison Grace Bassett Bromberg (Birmingham, AL); adoring former wife, Patty Morris Bromberg; doting father, Frank W. Bromberg; caring siblings Evelyn Bromberg Chappelle, Frank Wallace Bromberg, Jr. (Annette), Charles Louis Bromberg, IV (Danice), (all of Birmingham, Alabama); and numerous nieces and nephews. Brooks served his country proudly as a Sergeant in the 3d Battalion 327 Infantry 101st Airborne Division. As a squad leader in the mortar platoon, Brooks lead solders in the MFO Multinational Force and Observers, Sani Egypt. For his service Brooks received the Arm Commendation Medal for meritorious service to his country, along with many other awards. Brooks received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics, with a Minor in Corporate Finance, from the University of Alabama. He played on The University of South Alabama's Soccer Team before transferring to U of A. He attended The Webb School, and graduated from Mountain Brook Highschool. Brooks began his Operations and Project Management career at National Woodworks, Inc. in 1990, and continued to grow as a passionate and dynamic leader within the Millwork and Cabinet Industry. Brooks' dedication to his community led him to serve on the board of Adaptive Aquatics, where he married his passion for water-skiing and philanthropy, by teaching water-skiing to children, adults, and veterans with physical disabilities. He fervently loved God, his children and family, his country, Alabama football, and the game of soccer. Brooks found joy in the simplest of things, believed humor to be the best antidote, and never passed up an opportunity for a lighthearted prank. He firmly believed a strong work ethic to be the cornerstone of success. He found peace and tranquility listening to music, camping, hunting, and letting time slip away on the water. He was a cherished friend to many and brought joy to whomever he encountered. He will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him, moreover; by those who were blessed enough to call him a friend. Celebration of Life and Burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, located at 600 Martin Luther King Drive; Birmingham, AL, 35211, on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM, CST. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in the name of E. Brooks Bromberg, Adaptive Aquatics; Attn: E. Brooks Bromberg Adaptive Aquatics Memorial Fund; 1473 Paradise Cove Lane, Wilsonville AL, 35186. Services are under the direction of Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood.
