Flora Nix Brooks, age105, died September 23, 2015. Flora was born December 27, 1909 to Thomas M. and Mary Crawford Nix in Bell Allen, Al in Bibb County. She was a graduate of West Blocton High School in 1927 and a graduate of Massey Business College in 1929. She married Edgar Brooks in 1951. Flora retired from the Social Security Administration and in 1972 she received the Social Security Administration Commission Citation. Flora was a long time member of Highland United Methodist Church and was always involved with community outreach missions. Flora was preceded in death by her parents, her sister France M. Cameron and her husband Edgar Brooks.
A Graveside service will be at 3:00p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery on Friday, September 25, 2015.
