Frances was a lifelong resident of Birmingham and a member of St. George Greek Melkite Catholic Church. She was born in Birmingham and was the daughter of the late John and Mary Wojick. Her parents, who emigrated from Poland, raised Frances & her five other siblings here in Birmingham. Frances was a graduate of St. Paul’s Catholic School. Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Benjamin Paul David and by six siblings, Pete Wojick, Ann Mueller, Josephine Jones, Bennie Wojick, Steve Wojick & Mary Williams. Frances is survived by her six children, John P. David (Teresa), Mary A. David, Cathey Abikhaled (Ghazi), Bill David, Teresa Hill Troncale (Mark) and Carol Christiansen (Bob). Frances loved spending time with her eleven grandchildren, David David, Stephanie Hill, Jonathan Hill, Clayton Hill, Anna Christiansen, Ben Christiansen, Robert Christiansen, Caroline Christiansen, John Christiansen, Christine David and Miriam Abikhaled. She had many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
Frances gave unselfishly raising her six children with unwavering devotion as a lifelong commitment, always thinking about what she can do for her family. She stood by her husband's side in sickness and health and was like a guardian angel throughout his life. After raising her family, Frances took several studies at UAB. She was a member of the Azara Club at St. George, and the Altadena Garden Club. She loved being around her family and friends and never met a stranger. She brought us such joy.
Visitation will be Monday April 10th at St. George Greek Melkite Catholic Church from 10 - noon. Funeral service will follow at Noon, and burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery. Family and friends are invited back to the church hall, after the burial, for the mercy meal. Rt. Rev. Frank Millienewicz will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be given to St. George Greek Melkite Catholic Church.
We are grateful to Father, Frank for his abundant love and support to mom and our family and also to Sister Pat Sullivan who visited her for several years.
"Her presence will be dearly missed, but her memories will be with us forever."
You have truly left a legacy Mom - we will miss you.
Arrangements under the direction of Ridout's Valley Chapel, Homewood, AL.
