Fred Nathaniel Massengill

Fred attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on a football scholarship, served honorably in the US Air Force, and succeeded both as the executive VP with a major trucking firm, Malone Freight Lines and as owner/operator of ANTEM Claims Service. Fred was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who loved to share his passions for hunting, collecting guns and Wall Street with family and friends and will be missed more than words can express.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Joyce Webb Massengill; his children; Terri Milton of Pelham, AL, Mark Massengill of Dadeville, AL, Angie Moore of Hoover, AL; his beloved grandchildren; Brad Farris, Daniel Milton, Destiny Massengill, Chloe Moore and Graci Moore. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Robin Anderton and Ashley Fields with New Beacon Hospice and VA Safe Harbor.

A Memorial Service with military funeral honors will be held on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ridout’s Valley Chapel, Homewood, AL.
