Fred passed on a legacy of hard-work, love of country, toughness, and loyalty to family and friends. As a paratrooper in the United States Army’s elite 101st Airborne, a crane operator, union representative, and with over thirty years of service to our country as a director at the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services, he worked tirelessly as a soldier, mediator, leader, father, friend, and husband.
Fred was known as a fierce debater who loved with actions over words. A staunch skeptic, in the latter years of his life he surrendered his heart to Jesus Christ and became a son of the living God; in whose arms he now rests.”
He was proceeded in death by his mother Rose Ann, his father Fred, Sr, his wife Pauline, his daughter Dana Marie and his sister Mary Alice.
Fred is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Donald and Joyce, his sister Charlotte, his three beloved sons and “favorite” daughters-in-law: Mike and Jeri, Chris and Crisi, and Eric and Tiffany, his eight grandchildren: Cal, Luke, Grey, Livi, Matthew, Josh, Brett, and Evan, his two great-grandchildren: Ellie and Sam and his “baby” – Copper (three-legged mutt).
The funeral service will be on Thursday, December 5, 2024 beginning at 11:00 am with the
family receiving friends following in the Chapel of Briarwood Presbyterian Church.
