

She was born March 24, 1948, in Vestavia, Alabama, to Robert and Harriette Gwin.
Gay attended Jacksonville State University and followed this by traveling the world as a Flight Attendant with United Airlines. Gay lived her life to the fullest and was involved in many civic organizations. She organized trips for Newcomers of Birmingham. She had the uncanny ability to link people socially and was an active member of P.E.O (Chapter B), Lakeshore foundation board and Clipped Wings. Gay was a member, served and worshiped at Liberty Baptist Church.
One of her greatest gifts and joys in her life came from spending time with animals and giving to others.
Gay is survived by her brother and his spouse, Squire and Grace Gwin; children and their spouses, Paul and Jane Fowler, and Kristin and Brandon Story; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Harriette Gwin, sister, Ann Keith and brother, David Gwin.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on January 28th at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood, burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Bessemer will follow.
