George William ("Will") Sherling died unexpectedly from a fall in his home in Birmingham, Alabama on November 7, 2014. Will was born on January 8, 1982, in Birmingham, and he lived there until he moved with his family to Dallas, Texas eleven years later.
Will was confirmed at Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, where he was extremely active in the youth program and served on several mission trips. He attended Highland Park High School in Dallas and graduated from Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, Texas.
Will discovered early that his passions included basketball and swimming. Will later attended Birmingham Southern College, where he was also proud to be a member of the basketball team.
After college, he lived in Austin, Texas, Nashville, Tennessee, and Atlanta, Georgia, where he enjoyed great success using his sales abilities. He had recently returned to Birmingham where he loved spending time with the rest of his immediate family. His was a creative mind: he loved writing music and found avocation as a stand-up comedian.
Will is survived by his parents, George and Lou Ann Sherling; his sister, Laura Sherling Dunning (Adrian); his adoring nephew, Anderson Benjamin Dunning, and niece, Ann Shelton Dunning; and his uncle, Jesse Perry McLeod, in addition to a number of other beloved family members.
