November 18, 2014 Glenn Hamilton Donald, Sr., went to be with The Lord on November 18, 2014. He was born and raised in Carrolton, Georgia and moved to Birmingham immediately after graduation from the University of Georgia where he met his loving wife of 53 years, Charlotte Weaver Donald. He began his successful career in real estate at Nelson Weaver Companies before starting his own firm, Glenn Donald Realty. He was a proud and loving father of two children, Glenn Hamilton Donald, Jr. of Birmingham and Melissa Donald Grant of Raleigh, NC. He put family first in everything he did and was actively involved in every area of his family's life as a father, grandfather, and most recently a great grandfather. He was a fixture at every one of his families sporting events and activities, and any of their friends and families immediately became his friends and family as well. He was also an active member and greeter at Briarwood Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Birmingham Country Club where he enjoyed golf with his family and friends. Glenn passionately embraced every day of his life with a genuine gusto and zeal that spilled over into everyone he came into contact with. He modeled selfless living in the way he always put others first and was always there to offer a warm embrace and contagious smile. He will be missed by many but our short term loss is definitely Heaven's gain. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Wesley Donald, Sr. and Frances Bennett Donald of Carrolton, Georgia. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; son, Glenn (Kenneith); daughter, Missy (Patrick); five grandchildren; a great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews; brother, Dr. Clarence Donald, Jr. (Jeannie); and his sister in law and brother in law, Carolyn and Leo Sexton and their entire family of Atlanta, Georgia. A visitation is scheduled for Friday, November 21 from 4:00-6:00 at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, November 22 at 1:00 pm at Briarwood Presbyterian Church. All are encouraged to attend and celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, Glenn requested donations to be made to Restoration Academy in Fairfield, AL.
