

GROVE, GLENN MORGAN Glenn Morgan Grove, 79, died December 4, 2011. He was a native of Tyrone, Pennsylvania, and the son of the late Carrie Cupper and Glenn Miller Grove. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Joanne Levi Grove, two sons, Glenn (Karen) of Franklin, Tennessee, Edward (Laura Lee) of Birmingham; grandchildren: Anna Glenn, Sam, Mac, Miller, and Alianne. Also surviving is his sister, Betsy Nejako of Claymont, Delaware, his sister-in-law, Joyce Levi, and many loved nieces and nephews. Glenn graduated with an engineering degree from The Pennsylvania State University in 1954 where he was a member of Chi Phi Fraternity. He later earned a Masters of Business Administration from Troy State University. While at Penn State he was a distinguished ROTC military student. He was on active duty both stateside and in Germany in the US Army for three and a half years. As a 1st Lieutenant with the 11th Airborne Division he took great pride in serving his country. Following his army service, he worked for The Bell of Pennsylvania, and retired from both Lehigh Portland Cement Company and The Southern Company (Nuclear Division). The last nine years he enjoyed substitute teaching in the Vestavia Hills School System and serving as Poll Chief for the Rocky Ridge Road Voting Precinct. From a devout Lutheran of 33 years to a Presbyterian deacon and elder and a steadfast Methodist, Glenn's faith and Bible study have always been a constant and meaningful part of his life. A celebration honoring his memory will be held on Wednesday, December 7 at Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 12-1, with the funeral following.
