Harryette was born in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1936 to Hugh and Hattie Anderson.
She graduated from Shades Valley High School and went on to attend Judson College. She worked for many years raising her children and participating in different philanthropy clubs including the Village Garden Club and the Carousel Dance Club. In addition to being a member of Mountain Brook Baptist Church, Harryette was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
