He was an active member of McElwain Baptist Church for more than 50 years.
Mr. Nichols is survived by sons: Howard Jr., (Madonna), Tim (Jolene) and Victor (Susan) and by his grandchildren: Jennifer, Will, Mary-Carmen, Anna-Grace, Alex, Rachel, Ben, Hannah, Evie, Tori, Cami, Leo, and Gracey and great-grandchildren: Gabi, Elisa, Will, Marina, Ella, Kendall, Mandee, Everett, Hudson, and Vida.
The family will have a visitation on Sunday, March 17th from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Ridout’s Valley Chapel. The funeral service will be on Monday March 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Community Church (McElwain Baptist Church) with visitation one hour prior. The burial will be private for the family following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Howard may be made to Hope Community Church.
Services are under the direction of Ridout's Valley Chapel (205-879-3401) in Homewood.
