Isabel Elmore Bradley of Birmingham, AL went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 31, 2020. Daughter of Isabella Wood McDowell Elmore and Dr. Kelly Lee Elmore, she was born in Waynesville, N.C on October 3, 1928 and grew up in Sheffield, AL. She attended Sheffield High School and graduated college from Duke University. After marrying John Miller Bradley, Jr. she moved to Birmingham in 1953. Isabel is preceded in death by her parents Isabella and Kelly Elmore, her husband John M. Bradley, Jr. her son John M. Bradley, III (Molly Shaw Bradley) and her brother Kelly L. Elmore, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Jocelyn Bradley Palmer (James), brother Dr. Stanley Elmore and her grandchildren Virginia Bradley Linzee, Gates McDowell Bradley, Benjamin W. Bradley and Christopher J.S. Bradley. Isabel was a member of Briarwood Prebyterian Church, The Junior League of Birmingham and The Junior League Choral Group, Daughters of the American Revolution, Women's Committee of 100, Silhouettes Dance Club, and The Country Club of Birmingham. Isabel spent much of her life pursuing her faith in Jesus Christ and various patriotic causes. She loved her family and her country greatly and spent much of her life's efforts in concern for this country. She tried to be a watchman as she saw the handwriting on the wall many decades ago of events that are now unfolding. We are so appreciative of the caregiving of Jean Rembert, Wadee'ah Ra'oof and Shirley Parks as we could not have done without their reliable and compassionate care. Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service on Tuesday Jan 5, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
