

Jack Stewart Allison, 86, died April 7th after a short illness. He is predeceased by his parents Charles Johnson Allison Jr. and Elizabeth Gore Allison. He is also predeceased by his stepmother Donie DeBardeleben Allison and his stepsister Donie Neal Martin. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betsy Turner Allison and his two children, Charles Johnson Allison II (Katherine) and Elizabeth Allison Edwards (Hugh). He is survived by his precious grandchildren Jack Stewart Allison II, Eleanor Elizabeth “Betsy” Edwards and Sarah Welles Edwards. He is also survived by his stepsister, Virginia Neal Almand.
Jack was born in Birmingham and graduated from Shades Valley High School. From there he went to his beloved University of Alabama where he lettered in tennis. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and graduated in Business. He began his distinguished career at Equitable Securities alongside his father. He then worked at J.C. Bradford Securities for 25 years where he was a Partner and finished his career at Morgan Stanley.
He loved to tell how as an officer in the Army his duty was to coach tennis. He was a member of the Matthews Marauders golf dogfight at Mountain Brook Club, the Country Club of Birmingham and the Beaux Arts Krewe.
The service of celebration of life will be at the Cathedral Church of the Advent on Monday, April 15th at 2 pm. Visitation will be prior to the service at 1 pm.
