Jack was born in New Merkle on May 23, 1938 to the late Rev. John W. Bailey and Bessie Winstid Bailey. He worked at Brookwood Medical Center for 33 years as a carpenter, and was also involved in the Cahaba Heights Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his parents and by his sisters Mary Walton, Myrtle Adams, Mae Bailey and his brother Alfred Bailey. Left to treasure his memory are his children Tammy Bailey Bearden (Wade), Chris Bailey (Emily) and Tiffane Elkin; grandchildren Brittany, Matt, Ashlee, Karlee and Brooke and his great grandchildren; Mario and Anaylee and a brother John W. Bailey.
The family will receive friends at Cahaba Heights Baptist Church on Sunday, December 17, 2017 beginning at 2 pm with the graveside following at 3 pm with the Reverend David Houston of Vandiver Church of God officiating.
