Jack Christian, age 86,of Inverness passed away on Saturday, January 7,2012. Mr. Christian was a native of Vernon, AL, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and participated in the D Day invasion of Normandy, he retired from Kraft Foods with 39 years of service, he was also a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.
Mr. Christian is survived by his wife of 68 years, Alice Christian, a brother Austin Christian (Betty), a number of nieces and nephews, and a special friend Ivy Walters.
There will be a chapel service for Mr. Christian on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Ridout’s Valley Chapel with a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. The family will be having a reception following the service at Valley Chapel. Burial will be at the Alabama National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest that donations be made to Philadelphia Baptist Church,3001 Pump House Road, Birmingham, AL 35243 or to the charity of your choice.
