

James (Onc) Leonidas Forman was born in Springville, Al. on Jan. 4, 1928, and joined our Lord on May 24, 2014. He attended Baylor School and was a University of Alabama graduate, where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. He spent two years in the Air Force in Japan. His career during most of his lifetime was with Lincoln National Life Insurance and estate planning, where he was a member of the Million Dollar Round Table for several years. His extreme love for philanthropy and social events included supporting the Birmingham Touchdown Club, his beloved Crimson Tide, The Club, Vestavia Country Club, the American Legion, and Springville Presbyterian Church. Because of his outgoing personality and quick wit, he was the emcee of the Miss Springville Pageant for more than ten years. He had a tremendous passion for travel with his beloved wife, Alma, and they traveled together to all four corners of the earth. His survivors include his daughter, Pam Dunn(Jim) of Crossville Tn., one granddaughter, Dana Rae Bello of Atlanta, Ga., a stepdaughter, Renee Kirkbride(Bob) of Guntersville, Al., a stepson, Ret. Capt. Ronald L. Alsbrooks(Marlene) of Stafford, Va., one brother, Madison Forman of Springville, Al., a nephew, Lewis Windham of Springville, Al., his best friend and longtime caregiver, Towana Fells of Birmingham, and his beloved dog, Bandit. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2014, 12:00 - 1:00 at Ridout's Trussville Chapel followed by funeral service at 1:00 in the chapel. Burial will be at Springville Cemetery. The family extends their gratitude to the staff at Danberry and New Beacon Hospice for their support and dedication. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the American Legion Post #134, 4 Hollywood Blvd., Homewood, Al. 35209 or to Springville Prsebyterian Church, 6645 US Hwy 11, P.o. Box 429, Springville, Al. 35146. Arrangements are under the direction of Ridout's Valley Chapel, Homewood, AL.
