James David Holley, aged 74, passed away July 1, 2019. He graduated from Auburn University in 1966, with a B.S. degree in Forestry. He worked in industry and private practice for 50 years. He served in the U.S. Army and retired as a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves. After faithful service at First Baptist Church in Monroeville, Alabama, he became an active member at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood, Alabama. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and with his family. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Geiger Holley, his children, Kimberly Holley Felts, (Marty), Jeffrey Holley, (Laura), Caroline Holley Schultz, (Brandon), and Jason Holley (Kari); and grandchildren Hudson, Gavin, Jay, Reagan, Josh, Eliana, Maddie, Sarah Paige, Lauren, Copeland, Jack, Margaret Brennan, Crawford, John Wesley, and Cartwright; brothers, Wayne Holley and Keith Holley. He was preceded in death by his parents David Pitts Holley and Wanda Register Holley, and bother Edwin Holley.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 5, 2019, 12:00-2:00 PM at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood, Alabama. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM.
