Jane Bailey Carlisle

Eva Jane Carlisle, age 98, of Leeds, passed away Friday, January 10, 2025. Jane was born and raised in New Merkle (now Cahaba Heights) and attended Cahaba Heights School and Shades Cahaba High School. She was a long-time member of Valley View Baptist Church where she was blessed with a loving and supportive church family. She enjoyed nothing more than time spent with her family.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Lona Perryman Bailey; sisters Ruth Curren, Anna Shuttlesworth and Jerri Brooks; brothers Rudy, Harold, Jimmy and Billy Bailey; son Jimmy Carlisle and her loving husband of 45 years, Argress Carlisle.

She is survived by her daughters: Dorothy Sharbutt (John) and Sandra McCoy (Terry); grandchildren: Christian Glaze (Michael), Jennifer Hoffmann (Oliver), Jason Carlisle (April) and Meghan Stewart (Rob); great grandchildren: Mallory Becker, John Becker, Isabelle Hoffmann, Jack Hoffmann, Rylan Carlisle and Luke Carlisle; sister: Kay Pharris; and many extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood on Saturday, January 18, 2025, beginning at 11:00 am with the funeral service following at 12 noon. Burial will follow the service at Acton Memorial Cemetery, 4660 Caldwell Mill Road, Vestavia Hills, AL 35243.
