Janice W. Bishop

Mrs. Janice Rebecca Weeks Bishop, a resident of Vestavia Hills, died April 18, 2014 at the age of 70. She was born on January 8, 1944, in Cullman, Alabama. She was predeceased by her parents Auburn Chesley Weeks and Emma Stella Graham Weeks; and her brother, Norman Curtis Weeks, Sr., of Columbus, Georgia. Mrs. Bishop graduated from Cullman High School in 1962 where she was chosen Valedictorian. She received a Bachelor's Degree in English and a Teacher's Certificate from the University of Alabama in 1965. She obtained a Masters Degree in English Education from the University of Alabama in 1966. Mrs. Bishop was both a teacher and a homemaker. She taught at Decatur High School, Decatur, Alabama; Jinks Junior High School, Panama City, Flordia; and Briarcliff High School, Atlanta, Georgia. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Timothy Bishop; her son, David Timothy Bishop of Birmingham. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Cullman, Alabama.
