Jeffery “Brett” Clark, age 61, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on May 9, 2025. Born on April 7, 1964, to Joan and Larry Clark. Brett’s life was a great example of love and dedication. Family was his priority. He was a devoted husband to Sally A. Clark for 16 beautiful years, and a loving son, father, and brother. Brett’s zest for life made him a true joy to be around—wherever he went, happiness followed. His passion for life was undeniable—his quick wit & comedic timing never provided a dull moment. Brett loved living on the water & self-identified as the Best Pontoon Captain of Lay Lake. Golfing, boating, fishing, woodworking and time outside kept him entertained but his family kept him going.
He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Larry Clark. He leaves behind a loving mother, Joan Clark; his wife, Sally A. Clark; his children Dalton Clark (Caroline), Kacie Clark, Andrew Abele, and Bradford Abele (Olivia); his brothers Wayne Clark (Nicholas Komor) and Johnny Clark; and his nephews Jared Clark (Mandi) and Dexter Clark (Morgan); his brother-in-law Steve Allison.
Brett’s career was deeply rooted in the construction industry, and for the last 23 years, he worked at Dunn Building Company overseeing business development. He was involved in organizations such as Manufacture Alabama, Associated General Contractors, Associated Builders & Contractors, and Economic Development Association of Alabama. He truly loved the industry.
Brett never met a stranger - his electric personality lit up every room and gave him the ability to bring so many people together. His absence will not go unnoticed by all those he impacted. His memory will keep inspiring everyone lucky enough to have known him.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Brett’s legacy by donating to the Coosa River Keeper at coosariver.org.
