PARKER, JESSIE MAE, age 86 of Homewood, AL passed away February 19, 2011. She lived in Homewood most of her life and raised her two daughters in Homewood. She is survived by both her daughters, Lynette Cotton and son-in-law Jay, and Carolyn Wheeler and son-in-law Daniel. She has four wonderful grandchildren that she was extremely proud of Robby Bentley with wife Jennifer, Rebecca Ragland with husband Justin, and the granddaughter that was named after her grandmother Jessica Covington. She was very fortunate to have 3 great-grandchildren that she was also crazy about; Caleb Bentley, Isabella Bentley and Isaac Bentley. She was fortunate enough to have one more person in her life that she called her daughter that we all considered our sister and just one of our family too, Susan Calvin that will miss her terrible. She was preceded in death by our father, Calvin Parker, and our brother Henry, and her grandson, Matthew Covington and her mom and dad, which I am sure were waiting on her when she got to Heaven. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Mother had the gift of giving love to everyone she met and would make a room light up when she came into it. She could make anyone laugh. She will be missed by everyone who knew her and loved her. A chapel service will be held at Ridout's Valley Chapel on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 11 am with burial in Forest Hills Cemetery. Brother David Ferguson will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 pm Monday evening at Valley Chapel in Homewood. The family would especially like to thank Ala-Care for their special care that was given to mother for such a short time but their compassion, help, and concern was very much appreciated and we love each of you who helped take care of mother! Thank you.
