Jimmie Johnson, age 66, passed away suddenly at his home on June 8, 2026, with his son, Pete, by his side.
Jimmie was a steady, compassionate presence who made others feel seen, valued, and at ease. His quiet strength, gentle humor, and genuine care for people brought comfort in both everyday moments and times of uncertainty.
He dedicated 30 years to a career in healthcare, serving patients and colleagues with skill, dignity, and compassion. Jimmie worked in the Cath Lab at UAB Hospital and later at Brookwood Hospital/Orlando Health. He was a dependable and supportive coworker who was always willing to help, and he formed many lasting friendships throughout his career.
Above all, Jimmie was a devoted husband and father. He shared 38 loving years of marriage with his wife, Dianne Stewart Johnson, and took great pride in his son, Peter Stewart Johnson. His family was his greatest joy, and he showed his love through unwavering loyalty, presence, and quiet acts of care.
Please join Dianne and Pete to share memories, stories, laughter, and love as we honor Jimmie and the lasting impact he had on all who knew him.
We look forward to gathering with family, friends, and colleagues to remember Jimmie and celebrate a life well lived on Sunday, August 23, 2026 2:00 PM – 4:00 PMRidout’s Valley Chapel,1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209

Jimmie will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, steady heart, and the love he gave so freely to his family, friends, patients, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
And in true Jimmie fashion, we can almost hear him saying one more time:
“This is the year, the Jets are going all the way!”
