Age 84 of Birmingham passed away peacefully in her home August 23, 2014. She was a retired engineer with over 30 years of service with Bell South in Birmingham, AL. After retirement, Jimmie spent much of her time enjoying bridge, watching baseball and playing golf. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, James R. Overton, Daisy Isbell, her step-father, Grady T. Isbell and her sister, Janette Parker. Survivors include her children, Barbara Glazer, Ken Massengill (Vickie), her grandson, Matt Glazer, her brother, James “Buddy” Overton (Norma), and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation for Ms. Massengill will be Tuesday, August 26th from 10:00-11:00 at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood followed by a chapel service at 11:00. Burial will take place at 1:00 at Cahaba Heights Baptist Cemetery.
