

Mrs. JoAnn Potts Haltiwanger, a life long resident of Homewood, passed away on Thursday, the 16th of September 2021 at the age of 89. She was the daughter of the late Eugene Howard Potts and Talice Irene Smith Potts. A member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. She and her husband, Dal enjoyed spending time at their lake home on Lay Lake surrounded by their children and grandchildren. She loved to play cards, was a terrible boat driver, and was always smiling. She truly enjoyed life and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Dalmous Haltiwanger, and by her son, Michael Alan Haltiwanger. She is survived by her daughter, Sherri Haltiwanger Portera; five grandchildren, Nicole Brooke, Michael Dalmous Portera, Joe Haltiwanger (Nicole), Jennifer Chapman, and Elizabeth Merrill. She is also survived by her seven great grandchildren, Payton, Aubry, Avery, Jackson, Abby, Brooke, and Madolyn. JoAnn's life revolved around her family that she so dearly loved.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation on Friday, the 24th of September, from 11:00 a.m. until Noon at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood. Funeral Services will commence at Noon and burial will immediately follow at Croft Acton Cemetery.
