Joe David Caldwell, age 90 of Hoover, passed away on Thursday, may 11, 2017. Mr. Caldwell served in the United States Army During World War II working on B52 bombers. He was the founder of Sound Land, Joe’s Hickory Chip and Avenue B Restaurant. He also enjoyed writing and reading poetry. However Joe would tell you the biggest accomplishment in his life was when he married the love of his life, his wife of 50 years, Rose D. Maple Caldwell. He is survived by his wife Rose and step-son Charles A. Maple.
The family will have a private burial at Alabama National Cemetery at a later date.
