John Timothy (Tim) Petty

PETTY, JOHN TIMOTHY "TIM" Age 69, of Keener, AL, passed away Friday, February 4th. A native of Mobile, Tim held a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn, a MBA from UAB, and a Master's degree in Counseling from the University of Montevallo. Tim specialized in solar energy research for the Southern Company in his engineering career, and specialized in helping people in his counseling career. He was an excellent woodworker and photographer, and a great lover of nature and the outdoors. Tim is survived by his son, Gavin T. Petty, of Birmingham, AL; brother, James M. (Sarah) Petty, of Laurel Hill, FL; niece, Paige Petty, of Milton, FL; nephew, Michael Petty, of San Francisco, CA; stepdaughter, Adrienne de Lathouder Littlefield, of Memphis, TN; stepson, Jim de Lathouder, of Birmingham, AL; and friend and former wife, Elizabeth Frantz, of Gadsden, AL. Services will be held at Ridouts' Valley Chapel in Homewood, AL, Saturday, February 12th, with a remembrance held at 1 p.m., followed by a service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society .
