John received his MD from the University of Miami, Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. He served in the United States Navy as a Flight Surgeon. After moving to Alabama he joined Birmingham Radiological Group and Princeton Baptist Medical Center as a Radiation Oncologist. John was a lifelong student with a passion for traveling, diving and flying.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Joan Pinkston. He is survived by his partner Louise Pinkston, his son Christopher Pinkston, his daughter and son in law Naomi and Jerry Chou and his grandchildren Harper Chou and Blake Chou.
The family will receive friends at a reception on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.at Ridout’s Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Rd., Homewood, AL.
