Joseph M. Steiner

Joseph Matthew Steiner, age 87, of Huntsville, AL passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014. He was born October 12, 1926 in Pittsburg, PA. Mr. Steiner served in the United States Army and met his wife, Ruth, in Berlin, Germany. Following his service in the army, he graduated from the University of Pittsburg, School of Engineering. He had a successful career in the field of engineering, working for both Westinghouse and Phillips, prior to opening his own business in Huntsville, AL where he eventually retired. Mr. Steiner is survived by his wife, Ruth H. Steiner; his daughters Kathleen (Robert) Miodonski of Chicago, IL, Karen James of Maitland, FL, Linda (James) Hunnicutt of Birmingham, AL, Laura Steiner of Birmingham, AL; his son Joseph (Sherry) Steiner Jr. of Pennington, NJ; his sister Rita Moeller of Tallahassee, FL; his grandchildren Matthew (Nicole) Miodonski, Kristin Miodonski and Daniel Miodonski of Chicago, IL, Patrick James and Michelle James of Orlando, FL, Hillary (Jonathan) Wright and Olivia Hunnicutt of Birmingham, AL, Christian Baker of Birmingham, AL, Clara Steiner and Julia Steiner of Pennington, NJ; and his great-granddaughter Mary Harlan Wright of Birmingham, AL.

Joseph and Ruth Steiner would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on Sunday, July 20, 2014

The family will be holding a private service to honor the life of Mr. Steiner. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
