Joseph Wheeler Wilson II

Joseph Wheeler Wilson II, "Wheeler," age 74, of Birmingham, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2012. He was a graduate of Ensley High School, the University of Alabama, and Cumberland School of Law. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel Ponder Wilson; his father, Otha Bernon Wilson; and a black Labrador retriever named Bud. He is survived by his wife of more than 48 years, Nancy Knight Wilson; his two daughters, Mary Ponder Wilson Porter (Adam) and Nancy Knight Wilson; and his two grandchildren, Adam Michael "Chip" Porter, Jr., and Mary Harbin Porter. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held in the chapel at Mountain Brook Baptist Church on Thursday, August 2, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., followed by visitation with the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Brook Baptist Church, 3631 Montevallo Road, Mountain Brook, Alabama 35213
