COX, JUANITA (Nita) FAUCETT RUSH, age 96, joined the Lord on Wednesday, August 7, 2019. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Wiley R. Cox, Jr. and by the father of her children, George Edward Rush. Survived by children; Janette Rush Beaumont, Ronda Rush Carlisle (Dyer) and William G. Rush (Rhonda); her grandchildren: Noal Steven Rivers (Tonya), Andrew Wesley Carlisle (Mary Andrews), Taylor Rush Carlisle (Brianne), Kelly Rush Watkins (Tracy) and Jennifer Rush Williams (Tanner); eight great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Her family will forever be grateful to her caregivers: Debra, Veronica, Harriett, Saundra and Pat. They loved and cared for her during her last years.
Born in Jefferson County to the parents of George Brady Faucett and Stevie Lee Newsome Faucett, she was a lifelong resident of Shades Mountain, later to be named Vestavia Hills. She attended Shades Cahaba High School and Birmingham-Southern College where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha. Her life interests included travel, ballroom dancing, playing golf and bridge, floral design and many other creative endeavors all while loving on her family. She became an avid reader of Christian literature in her later years. She enjoyed an active social life as a member of Vestavia Country Club along with many local dance clubs. While attending Covenant Presbyterian Church she made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and is now home with the Lord.
On Saturday, August 10th, a family graveside service will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning at Elmwood Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life service commencing at two o’clock in the afternoon at Ridout’s Valley Chapel, in Homewood.
