

Judith “Judy” Roper Pardue, 86, of Hoover, Alabama, passed away on August 5, 2026. Born on May 15, 1940, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Sadie and Dwight Roper, Judy was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother whose kindness and strength will be deeply missed.
She attended Phillips High School and later Auburn University, where she studied English.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Oscar Ward Pardue; her son, Matthew Ward Pardue; and her brothers, Daniel and Ennis Roper.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Brooke Pardue Houk, and husband David; her stepson, Phil Pardue, and his wife Maureen; her son Stephen Ennis Pardue; her sister, Mary Roper Griser; and her cherished grandchildren, Philip, Evan, and Gia Pardue; Brodie and Bailey Houk; and her great-granddaughter, Julieta Pardue.
A memorial service will be held at Vestavia Hills Methodist Church in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, on Tuesday August 25th. Visitation will be at 10:00am with the service at 10:30am for family and friends gathering to honor and remember her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Vestavia Hills Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice in Judy’s memory.
