Julia “Judy” Cole Lavallet passed away peacefully of natural causes on August 26, 2026.
Judy graduated from Brooke Hill Preparatory School for Girls and Penn Hall Junior College in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, before attending the University of Mississippi, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Her contagious smile, kind heart, and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Harrington Lavallet; her parents, John Benton Cole and Julia Estes Cole; and her brothers, John Benton Cole III, Thornton Estes Cole, and William Maddox Cole.
She is survived by her daughters, Julia “Julie” Estes Norville and Catherine Norville Frey; her grandchildren, Rory Norville, Peyton Norville, Pearson Bedingfield, and Julia Bedingfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A reception will be held at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood on September 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service at 1:30pm at Elmwood Cemetery.
