Julia Thrasher Weems

Julia Thrasher Weems of Hoover went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the age of 94. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, GiGi, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Lea Thrasher, and siblings: Roy and Troy Thrasher, John and Jerry Thrasher, and Jean Bennett and Lydia Marohn.

Julia enjoyed painting with acrylics and watercolors. She loved watching the birds, flowers that bloomed, nature, and the beautiful sunsets. Julia valued her friends and family. She was overjoyed to share pictures and news about her grandson Josh and his wife Jennifer, and her great grandchildren Isaich and Kaylee.

The family would like to thank her friends and neighbors for their assistance, prayers, texts, calls, and visits during the last few months. They would also like to thank ACG Hospice for Julia’s care.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Hoover on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Eric Roberts officiating.

Services are under the direction of Ridout's Valley Chapel (205-879-3401) in Homewood.
