Kate Ellis Foster

Kate was predeceased by her parents Henry Ellis and Diane Ho. She is survived by her husband, Chris and children, Henry and Jackson; brother Danny Ellis spouse Sandy; sister Diana Ellis spouse John; brother John Ellis spouse Kristen; brother Jim Ellis; and brother David Ellis spouse Sandra; and many nieces and nephews.

She grew up in Delhi, NY and graduated from Delaware Academy High School. Kate graduated from Marietta College where she received her BA and was on the crew and field hockey teams. She worked for many years at Compass Bank where she rose to Executive Vice President of Property Management.

Kate’s greatest joy was her two boys, Henry and Jackson. A devout Catholic, she was committed to her sons receiving a Catholic education. Throughout their years at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School and John Carroll Catholic High School, Kate was a constant presence, volunteering at every opportunity and giving generously of her time and talent. She was especially committed to the John Carroll lacrosse and cross country programs. Kate also served on the school’s PTO board. She will be remembered for her amazing spirit, her strength, and her commitment and dedication to her boys.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 11:30am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Homewood with visitation at the church prior to the Mass from 10:00-11:30am.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Kate’s commitment to the value of Catholic education by making donations to Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School Foundation, John Carroll Catholic High School Foundation or Catholic Reliefs.
