

Kate Molton Jones Jackson, Jan. 8, 1914 - May 9, 2015 Kate Molton Jones Jackson died May 9, 2015. She was born January 8, 1914, the daughter of Birmingham pioneer families Calvin and Annie Smith Jones. She was predeceased by her husband George Samuel Jackson, Jr., her sister Josephine Jones Dunn, her brother Calvin Jones, Jr., and her nephew Calvin Jones, III. Survivors are her niece Joanne Dunn Blyde of Birmingham, nephew Evans Dunn, Jr. (Kappie) of Decatur, AL, nephew Joseph Cardwell Jones of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and great niece Kathryn Dunn Lott (Tony), great nephews Evans J. Dunn (Katie) of Birmingham, and Calvin Jones, IV (Ashley) of Ft. Walton Beach, FL. She was a graduate of National Cathedral School, Washington, D.C. and attended College International Brillantmont, Lausanne, Switzerland, and Penland School, North Carolina. After several years service with American Red Cross Disaster Recovery and many years with The First National Bank of Birmingham Bond Department, she and her late husband owned and operated Architectural Hardware Co. She was a charter member of Independent Presbyterian Church and long time member of The Club and Vestavia Country Club, Encore Club, the Edgewood Garden Club and Junior League of Birmingham. Her family thanks the care-givers and support staff personnel at Brookdale Place in Homewood. Memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
