

Kathern “Kitty” Salmon Sheffield was loved by many during her 76 years of life. Born in Madison, Wisconsin on April 18, 1947, she lived a full life, raising three children. Kitty was preceded in death by her father and mother, Richard and Dorothy Salmon. She is survived by her children Lavinia Hallmark (Chance), Trey Sheffield and Betsy Crimi (Tony). She is also survived by her grandchildren Sarah Sheffield (Joel Owen), Cameron Sheffield, Lauren Hallmark, Garrett Hallmark, Caroline Crimi, Evelyn Crimi and Frances Crimi; her great-grandchildren Ophelia Owen and Leo Owen; by her siblings Tom Salmon (Sylvia), John Salmon (Nancy), Tony Salmon (Kathy), and Vince Salmon; by a niece that she was particularly close to whom she loved like a daughter, Maureen Lowe (John) and many other family members and dear friends.
Kitty is a graduate of Goose Bay High School and Samford University. She had a lengthy career as a successful businesswoman with BellSouth and AT&T until she retired.
Kitty was a lifelong learner: she enjoyed reading from her childhood into her adult life. She was a talented artist in crochet and knitting, gifting her beautiful creations to family and other loved ones. She enjoyed traveling the world, an extension of her love of learning. She volunteered in different capacities throughout her life always remembering to share her gifts, talents, and resources with others.
Kitty provided a home for so many people over the years. She will be remembered for her work ethic, intellect, generosity, and dependability. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
A visitation only will be held on Friday, December 29, 4:00-6:00 pm in Edgewood Parlor at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Loose Ends or your favorite charity.
