Kenneth E Barclay

Kenneth “Pond Guy” Edward Barclay, age 67, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 29, 2014. He fought the good fight till the end of battle with cancer. He served his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1966 until 1972 and was honorably discharged.

Ken “Pond Guy” lived life to the fullest. He faithfully served his church The Connection, was a volunteer at Children’s Hospital, a founding member of Mid Alabama Corvette Club and he enjoyed playing softball with RASSA senior softball league.

Ken was preceded in death by his father Earl Barclay. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Andy Barclay; his daughters: Meredith (Wesley) Wade and Allison Barclay; his grandchildren: Lola Wade, Colt Wade and Cooper Barclay; his mother: Jean (Edd) Storer; his sisters: Linda (Gary) Hoskin, Cindy (Michael) Korenek and a host of other family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Ken “Pond Guy” may be made to Happy Feet International, P.O. 1202, Gardendale, AL 35071.

The family will receive friends Friday, October 31, 2014 from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Ridout’s Valley Chapel. A graveside service with Military Honors will follow at Alabama National Cemetery at 2:45 p.m.
