I worked with Ken at McLeod Software. A joyful man, he was always helpful and ready with a smile, laugh, and encouraging word. It was abundantly clear how important his family was to him, and I pray for their peace and comfort during this time. He is greatly missed. 

I am so saddened to hear about Ken.  He was always a great friend and co-worker at McLeod Software.  Ken always made me laugh, had an encouraging word, and was readily available for help anytime he was needed.  We frequently enjoyed teasing each other about the Auburn/Alabama rivalry!! Ken will be missed greatly at McLeod Software.  I am praying for his family....that God would truly wrap them in his loving arms and let them sense His perfect presence by giving them peace during such a difficult time.

Ken Kirk was and is the best Father I could ever ask for. He and my Mom sacrificed so much for me and my brother David. He was there for every thing we were involved in, and I know deep down that he cares so much about his family. He and I share so many fond memories of campouts, baseball games at The Hoover Met and Regions Field, choir tours to far-away places, exciting vacations in wonderful places, and ceremonies celebrating our family's accomplishments. He taught me much of everything I know about life. I am grateful for the life knowledge and skills that he has passed on to me. All in all, I am proud to call him Dad. My love and respect for him will never fade. 

I worked alongside Ken for many years. He was truly a good man … honest, dependable, conscientious, and always ready to help. He was more than a co-worker, but a friend.

As a father, he was always a good example to me. He cared about his sons James and David a great deal.

He is and will be greatly missed.


Ken was always such a nice, kind, and sweet man with a huge personality.  I gotta say that I liked him from the day that Katie and he met and I encouraged Katie to see him again.  I liked that he was so fun and kind.  REST IN PEACE KEN....YOU WILL BE MISSED HERE WITH US.  I hope that you and my hubby John are doing some scout stuff or encouraging others up there in Heaven.  

I worked with Ken years ago at Magic 96.  He was a kind and diligent man who brought great value to our team.  I am deeply sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers to all of his family. 

A true gentleman and an encourager.  We have grown to love the Kirk family during James’ time in the School of the Arts.  We are praying for you.

I echo Judy's comments. We shared a lot of great moments together at Troop 97 with Ken, James and David! Ken and Katie are two of the nicest people I've ever know.  Such givers. The family is in our thoughts and prayers. RIP Ken! 

We will miss you Ken! It was a privilege to raise our boys together  through Scouts and Trinity.  You were a faithful and constant father to James and David.  I remember you and James giving Parker an early ride home from Scout Camp when Parker wasn't feeling well, and you staying to help out at Parker's 6 yr old birthday when all the other parents dropped off.  Through the years, it was always clear that you were a thoughtful and intentional father and husband, and  such a good friend to our family.
