

Pastor Larry "Grizz" Carlton Brown entered into eternal life on March 1, 2022 due to heart related health issues at the age of 66. Even though a failing heart took him away from this world, his loving heart left many filled with love of Christ.
Larry was born in the summer of 1955 in Richland, Georgia to Lonnie and Betty Brown. Larry spent the majority of his life in Southern California as Pastor of Apple Valley Foursquare Church with his then wife, Dawn Brown, who went to be with the Lord in 2015. He has served the Lord faithfully within local and international ministries especially within the Native American communities. Larry was also a musician and song writer having recorded worship albums. Due to his years of ministry, Larry was soon to be awarded an honorary doctorates in theology just before his passing.
Larry enjoyed the great outdoors, exploring new territory, and praying over every place his feet stepped.
Larry is survived by his daughter Amber Van (Dana), son Alan Brown (Vanessa), mother Betty Brown, siblings Joanne Nelson (Ronnie), Robin Brown (Gail), Rhonda Clouatre, Mark Brown (Stephanie), Susan Mitchell, grandchildren Hailee Stewart, Tristin Stewart, and Avery Brown. Larry is also survived by his wife Rita Bear Gray whom he married September 25, 2021. They spent the majority of their marriage traveling and ministering all over the U.S. Larry is also survived by many other loved family and friends worldwide.
His life will be celebrated in two services; the first will be held on March 12, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Crawford Road Baptist Church 2706 US 80, Phenix City, AL 36869. Secondary service in Hesperian, CA (TBD)
