Larry Dillard Hembree

Larry Dillard Hembree, 63, of Homewood went home to be with the Lord on September 19, 2013. He was born on September 27, 1949 in Mobile and raised in Chickasaw, Alabama. He married Brenda Johnson Hembree in 1970 and was a resident of Homewood since 1973. He was a charter member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and had a long career in building materials. He is survived by his wife, Brenda; their three daughters: Julie Halla (Ryan), Abby Perlis (Charles) and Katie Daniel (Cameron); six grandchildren: Jackson and Tate Halla, Rivers, Harper and Ford Perlis, and Alice Daniel; and his sister Linda Tinnell. He will be deeply missed by many and remembered as a loyal friend with a great sense of humor and avid sports fan. Visitation will be at Covenant Presbyterian Church (65 Old Montgomery Hwy Birmingham, AL 35209) on Sunday, September 22 at 1:30 pm with celebration service to follow at 3:00 pm.
