Linda Jean Marx aged 71, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2023, at her residence in Mountain Brook, Alabama. Born on May 13, 1952 in Birmingham, Alabama, she was the beloved daughter of Bernice Marx and Victor Hugo Marx Jr.
Linda’s life was filled with love, kindness and charity. She loved dogs with a passion, they held a special place in her heart and was never without at least one of these furry companions.
She was always open to try new things. Her life experience’s were extraordinary and full of excitement. She was able in her time on this earth to accomplish things that most only dream of.
At age seventeen Linda started her own music and entertainment promotion company. During the 70’s and 80’s it had grown to the place where she was managing and promoting some of the top name recording artists of that era.
One day while flipping through the tv channels she ran across a professional wrestling program. Having never seen a wrestling event, she became fascinated with the business side of that sport. After a year, or so of learning the ropes (no pun intended) she started a second business and became the first female wrestling promoter in the state. Linda made superstars out of many small time unknown wrestlers.
Forming a corporation in 2005 (Wrestle Inc.) Linda produced a local weekly television show (Wrestle Birmingham) which ran for over two years.
Linda was a woman of substance! Her character was bigger than life! Fearless in the face of adversity.
She had a heart of gold and never once turned her back on anyone who needed help in any way.
Linda was a giver and gave unconditionally with a warm sincere smile and never bragged about it.
Her contagious smile, kind heart, generosity, soothing unmistakable voice and a one of a kind personality will be terribly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Linda was survived by her brother Hugo Marx III; sister, Lisa Marx; beloved lifelong friend, business partner and caregiver, Daniel Fravel; dearest longtime friend, (adopted sister) and caregiver, Anne Bell Hunter; cousins, William Marx, Carolyn (Bunny) Marx, David Cohen, and many other extended family members who loved Linda.
