Mary Louise Graham Eatman (Lou), age 85, of Birmingham, AL passed away peacefully on January 7, 2023. She was surrounded by her family. She was born in Benevola, Alabama to Elmer and Lillie Mae Graham. She attended Aliceville High School and later graduated from Judson College where she studied English and History. Her grammar was impeccable.
She taught middle school before moving to Vestavia Hills with her husband, Curtis Eatman. She was a long-time member of Southminster Presbyterian Church and loved teaching and playing piano for Sunday school. She never met a stranger and had friends all over the country. She was still very close friends with her high-school classmates and loved her home town, Aliceville, Alabama. Lou loved spending time with her family, cooking and Alabama football. She always had a funny story to tell. Her greatest joy was visiting with and helping with her grandchildren anytime she could. She spent many days doing what she loved best, being with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Major Roger Lee Graham and Lock Graham as well as her daughter Kristi Eatman Taylor. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Curtis Eatman, daughter, Brooke Dover (Ken), son, Roger Eatman, and grandchildren Tyler Williams and his wife Maizy, Spencer and his wife Maddie, Ally Williams (Landon Connell) and Ella Grace Eatman.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023, from 11 to 12 at Southminster Presbyterian Church. The service will be at noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Southminster Presbyterian Church, a place she attended church most of her life.
We miss her and mourn her passing but are at peace knowing she is home with the Lord.
