Lucile Glasgow Adams

Born on November 2, 1933, in Heflin, Alabama to Roy Huston and Lonnie Jane Perkins Glasgow, Lucile was a faithful servant of her Savior, Jesus Christ, and a devoted supporter of her family and community. She was deeply involved in her church, where she joyfully served in the choir, mentored youth, prepared meals for the sick and needy, and ministered to senior citizens. Her love for history and people was reflected in her active participation in organizations such as the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC), community dinner and bridge clubs, the National Association of Junior Auxiliary, Presbyterian Women and many others.

A passionate gardener, Lucile achieved the distinction of Master Gardener and was a dedicated member of local gardening clubs for many years. She also found great joy in cooking, sewing, crafting, singing, camping, traveling, and spending time with her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Huston and Lonnie Jane Perkins Glasgow, and her brothers, Earl Lambert Glasgow and William Alexander Glasgow.

Lucile is survived by the love of her life and devoted husband of 72 years, Jerry Benson Adams; her daughter, Susan Adams O’Brien (Michael); four grandchildren, Adam Borue O’Brien, Kerry Kathleen Herring, Heather Michelle Pienaar, and Brianna Noel McAmis; and seven great-grandchildren, Aiden, Cace, William, Lera, Warwick, Matheus, and Henrik. She is also survived by her two sisters, Patricia Ann Tiller and Sharron Jane Beam.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Birmingham, Alabama following the 12:00 pm visitation.
