Lynn lived her entire life in Birmingham Alabama, marrying Allen Jones Tutwiler, who pre-deceased her in 2014 after more than 60 years of marriage.
Lynn was an only child, but never was one. Her dear cousins - Sophia, Babs and Bobby Barinowski - grew up across the street from her on Canterbury Road. They made wonderful childhood playmates and then close, adult friends.
Lynn attended Chevy Chase College and was graduated from The University of Alabama. There, she shared wonderful times with her Kappa Delta sorority sisters, many of whom remained lifelong friends.
Lynn was a member of the Cathedral Church of the Advent, where she served on the Vestry. She also was devoted to the Linly Heflin Unit, which awards college scholarships to meritorious students in financial need.
Lynn is survived by her two children, Allen, Jr. and Murray Priester (Jim), both of whom reside in Birmingham. She leaves behind five wonderful grandchildren, Tracy Brewer Tutwiler, Kelly Jones Tutwiler, Lynn Otey Priester, Margaret Tutwiler Priester, and James Davis Priester. She also is survived by three great grandchildren.
Lynn will be interred between her loving father, Vans, and her wonderful husband, Allen, at a private graveside service for family.
The family extends their gratitude to the caretakers of St. Martin’s in the Pines. They request that any memorials be made to the Linly Heflin Scholarship Fund or to the Cathedral Church of the Advent.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ridoutsvalleychapel.com for the Tutwiler family.
