Mai Cunningham Brown Nov 21, 1927 - July 10, 2014 Mai Cunningham Brown, age 86, of Alabaster, went peacefully to be with our Lord Jesus on July 10, 2014 while at home. She was born on November 21, 1927 in Birmingham, Alabama. Her parents were Emma Mae Cunningham and Hamilton Cunningham. Mai had four children: Becky, Angus Jr., Melissa and Bobby. She was married to Angus A. Brown Sr. Both went to Auburn and were avid fans of the Tigers. They also both belonged to Altadena Country Club and enjoyed playing golf together with family and friends. Mai lived in Bluff Park for years and later moved to Royal Towers on Beacon Parkway in Birmingham. After that she moved in with Angus Jr. and his wife JoAnn, in Alabaster. She was a member of South Highland Presbyterian Church until she moved to Alabaster when she then became a member of First Baptist Church of Pelham. Mai is survived by her sisters-in-law Loretta Brown and Virginia Bender, and her children: Becky, Angus Jr. and JoAnn Brown, Melissa and Phil Mims, Bobby and Dee Dee Brown and a niece Diane Boss. Her grandchildren: Jennifer, Langdon (wife Jenny), Angus III (wife Lori), Graham (wife Charity), Bobby (wife Stephanie), Jami, Chloe, Mason and Preston. She also had 11 great grandchildren. Her husband Angus A. Brown Sr. and sister Mary Jane Boss, preceded Mai in death. Services will be held at Ridout's Valley Chapel Funeral Home in Homewood, Monday July 14th. Visitation will be 10-11 and funeral service at 11:00. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Dr. Ed Hurley of South Highland Presbyterian will officiate. Pallbearers will be Angus III, Graham, Langdon, Bobby, Grady and Mason. We would like to offer thanks to Dr. John Eagan Sr. of Trinity Hospital and New Beacon Hospice for all their help during this time and to all the people from our churches who helped make this easier for us.
