

Age 88 of Birmingham, Alabama, went peacefully to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 3, 2012. She was a very loving and giving person to all that knew her, especially to her only daughter, Joye, her grandchildren, Candice and Chad and great-granddaughter, Kirsten. Her nieces and nephews, and other loved ones, as well as a multitude of friends played an important part in her life. She loved them all very much.
She was retired from the Berry Company (Yellow Pages) as an executive secretary. She loved the Lord and was a very active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Women’s Junior Chamber of Commerce and American Business Women’s Association, where she was awarded “Woman of The Year” in 1985.
She was preceded in death by Thomas S. Wood and Lovick L. Stephenson III (Pete), parents, Benjamin Franklin and Daisy Olivia Parker, sister, Louise Steele Wooten, brothers, Louie, Tinsley, Penn and Jeff Parker. She is survived by her daughter, Joye Braden (Gary), grandson, Chad Braden, granddaughter, Candice Braden Morris (Bobby), great-granddaughter, Kirsten Nicole Morris, all from Birmingham AL, sisters-in law, Phila Wood Patton (Scott), Jasper TN, and Cosette Stephenson (Boo), Birmingham, AL.
A memorial service will be held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church at 11:00 on Saturday, June 16th, located on Sydney Drive in Homewood, AL. The family requests that in lieu of flowers any donations be made to her Church and/or The Alzheimer’s Association. Our thanks to all of her caregivers who we know loved her too and took such good care of her over the past few years.
