

Marguerite P. (Maggie) Eatman of Homewood died July 13 after a brief illness. She was a life long member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. She was active in ministry as an usher at 10:30 Mass for many years. She attended the original Our Lady of Sorrows Grammar School on Birmingham’s Southside and graduated from St. Paul’s High School in Birmingham.
Maggie was preceded in death by her parents Nelle and John Eatman, brothers Jack B. Eatman and Albert F. Eatman, sisters Kathleen Franklin and Dorothy Mayeux.
She is survived by nieces Kathy Norris of Hoover, Janie Laky and Molly Franklin both of Birmingham, Sandra Elkourie of Helena and Terry Eatman of Atlanta, GA.; nephews Jack B. Eatman, Jr. of LaGrange, GA and Louis Eatman, Los Angeles, CA.; as well as many cherished friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 16 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Homewood with funeral Mass to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery with Ridout Valley Chapel directing.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Maggie’s name to Alabama Animal Adoption Society, 2808 Crescent Avenue in Homewood, Alabama 35209.
