Age 91, of Birmingham passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012.
Marilyn was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 8, 1920. She proudly served in the Women’s Army Corps during World War II. Marilyn retired from the State of New Jersey Civil Service; she was a past member of the National Organization for Women and a volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
Marilyn is survived by her sons: Jeff Hawk and Danny Hawk; her daughter Robin Hawk; grandchildren: Jason and Daniel Whitehead and Chase and Abby Hawk; and her great grandson Weston Whitehead.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Ridout’s Valley Chapel with the family hosting a reception for friends following the service. Graveside service with Military Honors will follow at 2:45 p.m. at Alabama National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial in memory of Marilyn Hawk may be made to Episcopal Place Residents Relief Fund.
