

Keller, Martha Key Caldwell, 99, native and resident of Birmingham, died peacefully Wednesday January 23, 2013, at Kirkwood by the River. Over the years she developed a broad circle of friends through associations made in Birmingham Public Schools, Birmingham-Southern College (Class of 1934) where she was an active member of AOPi sorority, Handley Memorial and South Highland Presbyterian Churches, numerous bridge clubs, Julia Tutwiler Literary Club, and more recently at Kirkwood. Martha Key worked for many years at Iron Art Inc. where she welcomed and made many friends. Widely traveled, she often recalled specifics of tours in Europe, Asia, and North America. While at Birmingham Southern, she also studied piano and for many years served as a church musician. She was honored by Presbyterian Women as a life member.
Martha Key was predeceased by parents, Dr. Leland Caldwell and Amna Monroe Caldwell; and husband, Albert Henry Keller, Sr.
Family members include sons: Albert H. (Bert) Keller, Jr. (Lucille) of Charleston, SC; Leland C. Keller (Marty) of Birmingham; grandchildren Leland C. Keller, Jr. (Darlene) of Longmont, CO; Helen E. Keller of Decatur, GA; David A. Keller of Charleston, SC; Charles A. Keller of Asheville, NC; and John S. Keller of Ferney Voltaire, France; two great grandchildren, Kianna Lauck and Rowan Keller of Longmont, CO; nephew, nieces and cousins.
The memorial service will be Sunday January 27, 2013 at 3:00 PM at South Highland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Edwin G. Hurley and Rev. Richard Hanna officiating, with visitation following.
