Mary Ellen Sharman

Mary Ellen Ashley Sharman died on January 3, 2018. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama, the only child of Robert Augustus Ashley, Jr. and Thelma Ford Ashley. She graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and Huntingdon College. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, and the Junior League.

She was predeceased by her parents and by her husband, Jackson Roger Sharman, Jr. She is survived by her son, Jackson Roger Sharman III (Elizabeth), and by her grandchildren Mathilde Trueheart Sharman and Jackson Roger Sharman IV.

A graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Montgomery on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to St. Martin’s-in-the-Pines (4941 Montevallo Road, Irondale, AL 35210); St. John’s Episcopal Church (113 Madison Avenue, Montgomery AL 36104); or the Cathedral Church of the Advent (2017 6th Avenue North, Birmingham, AL 35203).
